Suterusu Integration: Privacy transactions on Fantom Opera
We’re excited to announce that Fantom will be collaborating with Suterusu to bring privacy transactions to the Fantom ecosystem. Suterusu allows users to make privacy transactions on a Layer-2.
Rather than supporting privacy transactions directly through the Fantom core layer, users will be able to plug into Suterusu’s technology when it goes live. This solution will keep Fantom compliant with regulations, and at the same time support privacy transactions for specific use cases. The integration will be quick and easy, as Suterusu have already deployed their tech on top of Ethereum, and Opera is EVM compatible.

The team behind Fantom has created a consensus mechanism which is asynchronous and byzantine fault-tolerant (aBFT) by design, meaning it can function in adverse and loosely connected networks. This consensus algorithm, Lachesis, is compatible with both Cosmos SDK and the EVM, allowing builders to deploy their own blockchain platforms or applications with ease.
Suterusu brings ZCash-level privacy to any blockchain platform or application. It integrates a state of the art trustless ZK-SNARK scheme with nearly constant size proofs, and efficient proof generation /verification. Suterusu provides privacy protection for several major blockchains and dApps, such as BTC and ETH, as well as DeFi products like Standard Tokenization Protocol and SWFT. Other public blockchains such as Neo and Theta have also worked with Suterusu to build layer-2 protocols to support privacy protection on their networks.
